New Moderator for Northern Synod nominated

Kim Plumpton

The Revd Kim Plumpton has been nominated to serve as Moderator of the United Reformed Church (国产无码) Northern Synod after the Revd Dave Herbert retires next year.

Kim graduated from Westminster College, Cambridge, and has served at Cobham United Church, Cobham Methodist and Effingham Methodist Churches since 2010.

Educated in Harrogate in social care, Kim did TLS from 2003-2005 before training for the ministry in 2006-2010. A fan of Star Trek, Kim loves spending time with her five adult children and their families, puzzles, walking, listening and retreats.

Kim said: 鈥淚 am delighted to be nominated as the Moderator Elect for Northern Synod. It will be a privilege to serve the Synod in this way and I hope that together, working as a team, we will explore ways of being the incarnational presence of Christ in the community.

鈥淚 welcome the wisdom, experience and knowledge that I鈥檓 sure already exists within the Synod so that through the Holy Spirit we can discern a way forward. I welcome your prayers for the Synod and for myself next year as we come together in a space of hospitality and welcome.

The Revd Philip Brooks, Deputy General Secretary (Mission) said: 鈥淚鈥檓 delighted that Kim has accepted the call to be the next Moderator of our Northern Synod. The interview panel was very impressed by Kim鈥檚 pastoral, prayerful approach to the questions posed. She demonstrated enthusiasm and energy for all that lies ahead in the life and mission of the Synod.
